LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The missing 72-year-old Castro County woman whose body was found in New Mexico on Monday, died of cardiovascular disease and exposure to the elements.
Jonette Hamilton Woods disappeared two weeks ago after driving away from her home in Dimmitt.
The Colfax County Sheriff's Office in New Mexico says there were no signs of trauma or struggle.
Authorities had issued a Silver Alert for Woods, who had Alzheimer's and other health issues.
"She had gone too long without her meds and oxygen ...we knew it wasn't going to be good news when they did find her," says Clint Robison, Jo Woods' grandson.
Robinson says a rancher found her car on Monday outside Raton, New Mexico. Her body was found nearby.
