Teenager's Killer Gets 25 Years

A man charged with murder pleaded guilty Thursday in court. 18-year-old Kacy Caddel received 25 years in exchange for his guilty plea to the murder of 14-year-old Sarah Rogers. He will be eligible for parole after serving at least half the time.

Two weeks ago 18-year-old James Martinez received 45 years in prison for his part in the murder. Rogers body was found badly beaten in October of 2000 at the old Lubbock Downs Race Track. An autopsy determined blunt force trauma as the cause of death.

We will have more on the sentence, including reaction from the victim's family, later on NewsChannel 11 at 5, 6 & 10.
