LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - September 30th, is the final day to raise the money needed in the "38-Days of Hope" campain to qualify for a grant that will build the "Hope Lodge" of Lubbock.
Hope Lodge is much like a Ronald McDonald House for adults who need a home away from home while they undergo lifesaving cancer treatments. Organizers still need to raise about $250,000 to complete the $11-million project, which will be built right next door to the Ronald McDonald House.
"We have the grant, Capstone grant, that will finish all of the funding if we can get to that point," said Don Curry, the Hope Lodge Campaign Co-Chairman.
The Hope Lodge of Lubbock will be the 30th lodge in the nation, but the very first one in Texas. If you would like to donate, please call the American Cancer Society at (806) 792-7128.
