TX Lawmaker Drafts Bill To Honor Columbia Crew

The seven astronauts of the Space Shuttle Columbia could soon be honored with the highest honor a civilian can receive. A bill has been drafted that would give the crew the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Lubbock Representative, Larry Combest is co-sponsoring the bill. He says they deserve it for the tremendous risks they took to improve our understanding of the world.

The seven crew members of the Space Shuttle Challenger who died in 1986 also received the Medal of Freedom.
