New attractions at the South Plains Fair

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Crowds have already starting gathering for the first day of the South Plains Fair.

This year, you can expect to see some new attractions. Two new rides have been added to the list. "We have the Eclipse this year and the Xtreme which are new rides to Lubbock that we've never had before," said general manager of the fair Herb Higgs.

Lubbock is the only place in the U.S. that has the Eclipse, and they also added a new shark show with a diver that interacts with the sharks. "This year my boys are really looking foward to seeing the sharks," said Ashley Hilliard with her two sons.

Not to worry, though, all the fair favorites are still there and they even brought one back -frozen chocolate covered bananas. The best part, all that money spent on the great food goes toward over 50 non-profit organizations.

Every day there are seven different shows to choose from and each night there will be a free concert. For more information (click here).
