LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Marsha Sharp Freeway is expected to be completed more than a decade ahead of schedule.
That's according to the Texas Highway Commission which just hired a Connecticut firm to complete the fourth and final phase of the project. The last phase will cover the stretch of roadway from 4th Street and Avenue L, to I-27. And that will cost $50 million, $8 million less than originally expected.
The good news is the commission says the whole freeway project will be finished by late 2012, 12 years ahead of schedule.
