LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - You've probably heard the famous phrase from Peanuts where Linus says "It's the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
He might have been talking about Jeana Culbert's pumpkin. Culbert grew a 500 pound pumpkin for the fair. It's so big they had to use a forklift to get it off the back of her pickup truck. What was Culbert's secret to big ole pumpkin success? It turns out raising a monster pumpkin is pretty simple.
"We planted the seed and put some water in there and just watched it and kind of took care of it," says Culbert.
Perhaps there's some sort of special talent in the Culbert Family because her husband took 3rd place with a 275 pound pumpkin.
