Fairgoers flock to two popular new rides on the carnival midway

This year the Panhandle South Plains Fair has two new special additions to the midway carnival - two new rides that can only be found here in Lubbock.

People are waiting in line to see what's so special about these new rides. One is called the Eclipse - it's the only one in the U.S. and there are only three in the entire world! According to each night's ticket sales, the Eclipse has been the #1 this year, and for a good reason. "It's just so unique in its action as to what it does because it's got four different actions all combined together," said Ride Supervisor Freddy Miller.

There's another ride that's going to the "extreme" to make people scream - it's called the Xscream and like the Eclipse it's the only one here in the U.S. "It's a really, really fast ride and elevates you 50 feet into the air," said Miller.

From the looks of it, these two rides will continue to be crowd favorites for the rest of the week.

Admission to get into the fair is $7 for adults 13 and over, $2 for children 12 and under and parking is $30.

The fair will be open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until midnight.
