4th Street and Loop 289 construction delayed

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The 15-month road expansion project that was set to begin on Wednesday has been delayed.

Drivers in northwest Lubbock woke up Wednesday morning expecting road-work and delays at 4th Street and west Loop 289, but that was not the case.

TxDot tells NewsChannel11 that they are still waiting for necessary equipment.

They hope to have everything in place on Wednesday night and officially close the roadways on Thursday.

NewsChannel 11 is following the progress and will keep you updated on kcbd.com and on the news at 6 and 10.
