Low income home ownership gets a boost in Lubbock

LUBBOCK TX (KCBD) - We have good news in Lubbock for low income families that wish to own a home.  Representatives from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, along with Lubbock banks American State bank, Citizens Bank, and First Bank & Trust were awarded partnership grants totaling $18,000. That money will assist low income families to become home-owners.

Quincy White, Executive Director of the North and East Lubbock Development Community Development Corporation says the announcement Wednesday was too "... recognize some local banks, in addition to the Federal Home Loan Bank out of Dallas for providing some grant funds to the North and East Lubbock ... Corporation."

The North and East Lubbock CDC's mission is to promote affordable housing and economic development.
