LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Sam Medina was officially sworn in as Lubbock's City Attorney on Thursday morning in a room full of City employees.
During the October 8th City Council meeting, he will be ceremonially sworn in by Justice Brian Quinn at 9:00 a.m.
Medina was raised in Crosbyton, graduated from Texas Tech Law School, was in private practice from 1976 to 1995, and was the first Hispanic to be elected to a county-wide position in Lubbock County when, in 1995, he became judge of the County Court at Law No. 1.
Judge Medina served as the 237th State Judicial District Court Judge from 1999 to 2009.
