Judge sets bond for Mickey Patterson

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Mickey Patterson went before a judge Tuesday. He's the man indicted by a Lubbock Grand Jury on two counts of murder: one for Kay Harrelson and one for Peggy Merimon. The two women went missing in 2006 and while Harrelson's body has been found there is no sign of Merimon.

Patterson was arrested late last month in Bend, Oregon, where a judge set his bond at $5 million dollars for each indictment. On Tuesday, a Lubbock County Magistrate reset those bonds to the same amount of $5 million dollars each. Patterson would have to post 10 percent or $500,000 dollars on each count before he could bond out of jail.

Patteron's lawyer is scheduled to talk to prosecutors on november 12th to see if the two sides can work out a plea bargain.
