LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - With all the talk about this year's flu vaccines, Yale scientists are working on something that could change the world, in a much different way. It's a vaccine for people addicted to cocaine.
So far, studies show that almost 40% of the cocaine abusers who tried this vaccine developed cocaine fighting antibodies afterward. So, the good news is it works a lot of the time. The problem is it only lasts about two months, but researchers at Yale are hopeful this could lead to an effective treatment that could end cocaine addiction something they say effects about two and a half million Americans.
