CLOVIS, NM (KCBD) - Reynaldo Jeremy Enriquez, 20, of Clovis was sentenced to serve 30-years after being convicted of numerous charges that were filed against him.

Enriquez was charged with one count of kidnapping, one count of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, two counts to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and one count of intimidation of a witness.

The charges stem from a Clovis home invasion burglary that occurred on July 28, 2008.  Enriquez and another co-defendant forced their way into a private home and assaulted the resident.  After being beaten, the resident fought back and managed to escape.  As the homeowner fled, Enriquez fired a gunshot at him as he ran from the home.  Several police officers responded to the scene, and the Clovis Police Department placed Reynaldo Enriquez under arrest for his part in the home invasion.

A Curry County jury found Enriquez guilty on April 28, 2009, and Judge Teddy Hartley deferred sentencing until a pre-sentence diagnostic report was completed on Enriquez.

Judge Hartley presided over the jury trial and sentencing and Assistant District Attorney Camille Chavez prosecuted the case for the State.  Judge Hartley sentenced Reynaldo Jeremy Enriquez to serve a total sentence of thirty (30) years in prison, and found that the charges constituted a "serious violent offense", meaning Enriquez will be required to serve 85% of his sentence before being considered for parole.

Enriquez is pending a sentencing in Roosevelt County for a similar incident and conviction, and also pending another sentencing in Curry County for his role in escaping from the Curry County Detention Center in 2008.
