Plainview accident turns fatal

PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - According to the Plainview Daily Herald, the accident that occurred on I-27 access road on Wednesday afternoon has turned fatal.

85-year-old Clyde Dorsett of Plainview was driving a gray Ford pickup truck failed to yield to 18-year-old Christopher Grant of Lubbock who was exiting I-27 in a gold Impala. Grant was reportedly heading to work at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center. The two vehicles collided and came to rest against the fence lining the east side of the access road.

Dorsett was taken by Plainview EMS to Covenant Hospital Plainview where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Grant was airlifted by AeroCare to University Medical Center in Lubbock where he is listed in critical condition.

Officials continued to investigate the accident this morning. Funeral services for Dorsett were pending with Lemons Funeral Home.

Plainview accident sends two men to the hospital

An accident on I-27, just south of Dimmitt Highway sent two men to hospital with serious injuries around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
