Investigators speak with victim of Lubbock shooting

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock Police Investigators finally got a chance on Monday afternoon to talk to the victim in a weekend shooting.

Police were expected to release new information on the female shooter, but say it could be Tuesday before any arrest is made.

Investigators say a woman shot 21-year-old Lucy Cortez just after 6:00 on Sunday morning outside of her home in the 2200 block of 35th Street.

Investigators believe the two women were fighting over a man they were both dating.

Cortez was taken to University Medical Center where she has been upgraded to serious condition.
