LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Two deadly crashes have intensified the need for change in Plainview. At least that's how the Texas Department of Transportation feels.
Plans are in the works to convert most of Plainview's Interstate 27 access roads from two way to one way. TxDOT estimates the plan will cost $12 million dollars. TxDOT says this won't just be repainting the stripes. It will also include a new overpass and turnaround at southwest 3rd Street.
No exact word on when the conversion will be done because it depends upon when TxDOT can get the funding.
