Charity Dove Hunt scheduled to benefit Hunts for Heroes program

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A local charity Dove Hunt will be held on Saturday, October 17th and will benefit the Hunts for Heroes program.

Hunts for Heroes is an organization dedicated to providing quality hunting and outdoor related activities to men and women that have been wounded on the field of battle in service to our country in the war against terrorism. All of the hunts are are free of charge for service men and women that are approved by organizations such as those sanctioned by the United States Military.

The hunt will be just outside of Petersburg, TX (30 minutes from Lubbock). It will be on approximately 900 acres of Sunflowers. The cost of the hunt is $50 /gun and this will also include a fantastic BBQ lunch. 100 percent of the funds raised will be going to Show of Support and their Hunt For Heroes program.

For Lubbock Hunters, the meeting place is at the Flying J Truck stop at 6:30 a.m. located at 4th and the Interstate (I-27) on Saturday morning. All other hunters will need to call the number below to RSVP and attain further details.

Also, there will be a set up on Thursday, October 15th from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. where you can sign up and buy raffle tickets for a shotgun.
