City reaches agreement with Garza County landowners

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Friday, the Lubbock City Council meets in special session.

The agenda includes a settlement between city hall and 19 Garza County landowners. The city wants to access their properties to build a water pipeline between Lubbock and Lake Alan Henry.

NewsChannel 11 has learned the two sides have settled. The settlement price is $85 per rod, which is less than half the amount landowners demanded but more than the market value as determined by a recent study. Each rod is 16.5 feet long.
