LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Boys are going to get their chance to line up too for a vaccine to protect against the Human Papilloma Virus, or HPV.
Friday, the FDA approved Gardasil to prevent genital warts in boys and men ages 9 through 26. It has already been available to girls and young women, in protecting them against cervical cancer. Also, the FDA has approved a second option for girls that should be on the market later this year. The new vaccine is called Cervarix and like Gardisil, it also targets HPV, a virus that can lead to cervical cancer in women.
