Lubbock woman dies in Dawson County crash

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - DPS is still looking into the cause of a Wednesday accident that took the life of a Lubbock woman.

Authorities pronounced 59-year-old Marilyn Brookman dead at the scene around 3 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators say Brookman was Southbound on Highway 87, just North of Ackerly, when she drove into the Median and rolled her 2002 Ford Explorer.

Authorities say the cause of death is still being determined. Brookman was wearing a seatbelt, but investigators told the Lamesa Press-Reporter that a medical condition could have contributed to the accident. They've ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
