Source: Denver City PDLUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Amber Alert for a missing Denver City toddler has been canceled.
The Texas Department of Public Safety issued an Amber Alert for 3-year-old Mitchell Romero on Friday. The search was discontinued about 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. Officials have not yet located the child.
Denver City Police suspected Mitchell's father, Mario Romero, of taking the child after his wife Veronica was discovered murdered last week. Romero is also a suspect in his wife's murder.
Denver City officials say they will now treat Mitchell's disappearance as a missing person's case, so they will be able to devote more time to the murder investigation and follow up on leads.
