LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - On Monday, TxDOT launches a drive friendly campaign for Lubbock drivers. The focus is on south Loop 289.
It's Lubbock's busiest roadway according to TxDOT, with more than 100,000 drivers every day. That's roughly have of the city's population merging onto or exiting the loop.
Starting Monday, folks in Lubbock will start to hear and see a new campaign; "Drive Friendly Lubbock. Let 'em on. Let 'em off."
TxDOT leaders want to show motorists how much easier it can be to merge onto the loop when through traffic stays in the middle or left lanes.
