On Tuesday members of the citizens traffic commission met and one of the things they discussed was driver training for Lubbock's seniors. Dick Kirby, the Associate State Coordinator of the AARP, discussed the importance and success of a driver refresher course for seniors.
The course is already being offered in the Hub City, but the AARP is hoping to spread the word, to involve more seniors. "The main purpose was to try and develop more sponsors for the program, we have good sponsors with the city of lubbock and their senior citizens center," said Dick Kirby, AARP Associate State Coordinator.
Wednesday night on NewsChannel 11, we'll take you inside a driver refresher course for seniors, and talk to some of the students about how the class is helping them.
