Chase Suspect Faces Charges

A man who led police on a chase across Lubbock Monday is facing several charges.

NewsChannel 11's Tower Cam caught the chase just after three as the driver went off the highway and into a field. Moments later he was driving the wrong way on the loop. Throughout the chase, police say James Edward Rodgers was swerving through traffic. They say he was trying to get rid of evidence of a methamphetamine lab in the bed of his truck.

After nearly thirty minutes, Rodgers crashed into a light pole and then tried to run. He was caught less than a block away at 58th Street and Avenue V. EMS took Rodgers to UMC with a few minor injuries. He is now in the Lubbock County Jail facing charges ranging from deadly conduct to possession of meth.

Two other men, William Edward Rogers and Jason Lee Cook are also facing drug charges for their alleged role in the meth lab. Neither of them was involved in the chase.
