LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - One of Lubbock's oldest businesses will close it's doors at the end of this year.
Childress Hardware has been around since 1917, over 90 years.
Because of a desire to retire and a tough economy, the president of the small business decided it is time to close.
"It's a signal of the times. Smaller mom and pop businesses are having a hard time over the last two or three years." says Paul Rostad, President of Childress Hardware Inc.
The store's last day of business is set tentatively for December 23rd.
