LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - You can't take your animals to be treated at University Medical Center, but you might have thought someone got that mixed up Wednesday if you noticed some four legged visitors in the parking lot. It was actually good therapy for some patients at the Children's Hospital at UMC.
"We're with Minis & Friends South Plains and we've brought our miniature horses out here to visit with the kids at UMC. I think it's important for anybody who needs a smile. It seems to brighten their day and it gives them something to talk about with their family and friends," says Melanie Tatum.
Melanie adds that senior citizens light up too when they see these tiny horses walk into a nursing home. If you'd like more information about this non-profit community program sponsored by Texas Tech. For more information, (Click Here).
