Nationwide Tea Party Express Tour making a stop in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Tea Party Express is coming to Lubbock on November 5, 2009.

The Tea Party Express national bus tour will host a series of tea party rallies all across the nation from coast-to-coast and border-to-border. The effort began in San Diego, California on October 25th and traveled eastward, building momentum and the tour will reach its final destination in Orlando, Florida on November 12th.

According to the Tea Party Express website, the tour comes exactly one-year before the November 2010 elections. The 19 day tour is billed as the "Countdown to Judgment Day" for our elected officials.

In a statement released to NewsChannel 11, organizers say "Meet the 'Ronald Reagan Express' and help launch the Countdown to Judgement Day."

At each stop the tour will highlight some of what they call "the worst offenders in Congress" who have voted for higher spending, higher taxes, and government intervention in the lives of American families and businesses.

The event will be on Thursday, November 5th at 5:00 p.m. at the Lubbock County Courthouse.
