Fire damages property at a Lubbock historical landmark


LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A fire in the 2300 block of 18th Street damaged a building in the backyard of one of Lubbock's historical landmarks.

The fire started around 1:20 p.m. on Friday at the Gus and Anne Ford house when a man was mixing gasoline and oil for a chainsaw in the backyard.

There is no word on what ignited the blaze. The fire damaged the garage behind the house.

The man mixing the oil and gasoline recieved flash burns but denied medical treatment. There were no other injuries reported.
