LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - On Monday, Allen Butler Construction, under contract with the City of Lubbock, will begin a street reconstruction project on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The reconstruction project will take place from Parkway Drive to East Broadway.

The existing asphalt paving surface will be removed and new concrete paving will be placed. Martin Luther King Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes during construction.

This project is scheduled to take seven months to complete. Drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution and expect minor delays as traffic will be reduced down to one lane in each direction. As always inclement weather and mechanical problems could cause delays.
