TCEQ fines local private airport for underground fuel storage tanks

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A privately run airport south of Lubbock gets into trouble for environmental violations. The TCEQ or Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will fine the Town & Country Airport more than $16,000.  Violations are for both record-keeping as well as not testing safety equipment on underground fuel storage tanks.

The TCEQ Commissioners are expected to approve an "agreed order" with the airport on Wednesday. TCEQ reduced the fine because Town & Country agreed to fix the violations quickly.
