LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - As more and more Lubbock stores receive permits to sell alcohol, the number of possible locations that could sell to minors or intoxicated people increases.
NewsChannel 11's Brittany Pieper rode along with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission to see what they're doing to regulate this.
The TABC tries to do a surprise inspection for every store that sells alcohol at least once a year.
They look for relatively minor violations like sign placement as well as major violations such as selling to a minor.
"We want to keep the good people in business, but we want to put the bad people out of business," says TABC Agent Anthony Bates.
Coming up tonight on NewsChannel 11 at 10, we'll have more on the inspection process and we will tell you what violations they have found so far in Lubbock.
