LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It's time again for Teen Straight Talk, to provide answers to the many questions young people have about sex and teen pressures. This free program sponsored by the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center has grown so much that the event this time will include three national speakers and 25 booths to provide additional resources, but like always, every teen will leave with a free book to help answer other questions later.
"We're hoping that everybody will come and if parents aren't sure if they want their kid to come, please for them to come too because we want to educate, a lot of parents say 'I want to talk to my kids about sex, but I don't know where to start' and so this is an opportunity to get the resources," said Linda Brice, R.N., Ph.D., with Texas Tech Health Sciences Center's School of Nursing.
Teen Straight Talk is Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Academic Classroom Building at the Texas Tech Health Science Center and again, it's free. For more information please feel free to contact Dr. Linda Brice at (806) 241-3652.
