Thursday night's club fire makes the second tragedy at a nightclub in a week. The first happened on Monday in Chicago, where 21 people were trampled to death in a stampede for the exit. So, NewsChannel 11 wanted to find out, are our local clubs and bars prepared in an emergency?
"You can't predict everything that is going to happen, but what you can do is be proactive up front," said Lubbock Fire Marshall, Mike Kemp.
"We do have a vigorous training process where we explain to them all the processes and procedures and what to do in case of an emergency situation," said Mauro Ortiz, the Manger of Bleachers.
Fire Marshall Kemp says people need to be aware of their surroundings. He says know where the closest exit is and also know the location of a secondary exit.
