LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A cat in Iowa is believed to be the first pet diagnosed with the H1N1 flu virus. Veterinarians and officials at the Iowa Department of Public Health are refusing to identify the cat, just saying it is a 13-year-old male.
Apparently, the cat's symptoms were fatigue, sneezing and coughing. He's been given antibiotics and treated for dehydration and is expected to make a full recovery. Meanwhile this is the first known transmission of Swine Flu from a human to a cat. Two of the cat's owners also had the flu before the cat became ill.
