LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - They knew from the start they would be out by noon, the Family Health Associates at UMC opened its doors this morning to walk-ins who asked for an H1N1 shot.
"We probably see ten to fifteen of them sick with the Swine Flu just in our office, so the Swine Flu is in our air and everybody in our office did get the flu shot and so far we were protected, so I think it's a protective vaccine," said Victoria Fernando, M.D., with the Family Health Associates at UMC.
Don't worry if you didn't get one Friday morning, NewsChannel 11 has learned that shipments of the H1N1 vaccine are on their way to numerous private physicians all across the South Plains. Although they have been instructed to provide them first to high risk groups, your best bet is to call your doctor's office, since many are already setting up waiting lists for when the vaccines arrive.
