LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - PETA is still on the attack against the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. PETA or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent out an advertisement recently to people in Odessa. It claims Odessa continues to sell stray cats to the Health Sciences Center, which are then used to train medical students.
PETA calls Odessa animal control "The Gateway To Hell" and the group demands that Odessa discontinue to provide felines to the Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. Tech officials have claimed repeatedly that the cats are anesthetized and do not feel any pain during medical training.
