Lubbock girl loses battle with kidney disease

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Tiffany Peterson, 22, died Saturday morning. We first brought you Tiffany’s story about a month ago.

Tiffany received a kidney transplant in April and a rare fungus began to spread inside her body. Because of the complication, doctors were forced to amputate her leg in September. After six months in the hospital, Tiffany went home in October.

Sadly though, Tiffany suffered a fatal aneurysm Saturday morning. Now, her family is trying to raise $4,000 to pay for funeral costs. A memorial fund for Peterson has been set up at Alliance Federal Credit Union to help with some of the costs

Tiffany’s funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Baptist Church.
