LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock County prosecutor says she wants to be in the judge's seat.
Jennifer Bassett announced her candidacy Tuesday for 364th District Judge. She will run against incumbent judge Brad Underwood.
“I really think the focus needs to be securing the community when you're a judge here in Lubbock County. That’s what I think is important to do and that was the factor in deciding to run for judge,” said Bassett.
If Bassett wins she will be the first female district judge in Lubbock County in over three decades. We'll hear from her tonight on NewsChannel 11 at 10.
