LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The cornerstone of any economy: New Housing. New numbers shed light on the health of Lubbock economy.
For October, Lubbock granted 66 construction permits for new, single-family houses. That's up from 63 in September.
Compared to October of 2008, there is an increase of 25 construction permits for October of 2009, from 41 to 66.
New home construction is down comparing the first 10 months of this year with the same time frame last year. The new housing sector has shown improvement in Lubbock since August.
