Update on vaccine clinics for area school children

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - We have a quick update on H1N1 vaccines for Lubbock area school children.

"Frenship ISD in conjunction with the Lubbock Health Department hopes to begin offering H1N1 vaccination clinics at each campus in December." That was the prerecorded phone message that went out to Frenship parents Thursday, in addition to letters.

Lubbock Cooper has not yet sent out word to parents but they're planning evening clinics for mid-December. Lubbock ISD is waiting for a more definitive word before alerting parents, but they're also anticipating evening clinics sometime in December.

Crews are on the scene of a fire at 24th Street and Avenue U.  Scanner traffic indicates this is possibly a vacant, single-story home. We're also hearing emergency crews received several calls from people nearby who are worried the fire could spread to their homes. There is heavy damage to the outside of the building. The Fire Marshal has been called to the scene.  KCBD has a crew on the scene and we will continue to update this story as we receive more information. ...
