LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Four area priests have been named Monsignors by the Pope himself. They are Eugene Driscoll, Nicolas Rendon, David Cruz and James O'Conner.
Lubbock Bishop Placido Rodriguez made the announcement Thursday morning, "As Bishop of Lubbock, I am delighted and extremely happy that our Holy Father in the name of the Roman Catholic Church has recognized these Monsignors and lay Catholics for outstanding in their service and holiness."
In addition to the four Monsignors, the Pope honored 12 parishioners from the Lubbock area with the highest honor bestowed by the Pope to lay persons.
