LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The city of Lubbock is expected to approve or re-approve several health insurance contracts this week. One of them is with embattled insurance company AIG. That's the same company that taxpayers bailed out to the tune of $182 billion dollars.
If Lubbock City Council approves, city employees will have organ transplant insurance through AIG. Public records indicate that Lubbock will pay $288,269 dollars for this coverage. Public records also say the city is going to pay 14% less than the current cost.
