Kemp to be formally appointed Interim Fire Chief

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - This Thursday the new Interim Fire Chief, Mike Kemp, will be formally appointed by the city council. Kemp who is currently Fire Marshal will fill in for outgoing Rhea Cooper.  

The city manager hires the fire chief, but it requires ratification by council.  No timetable has been announced for finding a permanent chief.
