NewsChannel 11 Investigates: The truth about AIDS in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Confirmed AIDS cases in Lubbock has seen a shocking rise of nearly 300 percent. Last year Lubbock County had 11 new HIV cases. This year, we've seen over 29, which is a 263 percent increase.

Some believe a lack in education here in Lubbock could be to blame. This is a scary thought since Lubbock County is home to more than 1,100 people diagnosed with HIV.

The Center for Disease Control estimates that 1 in every 4 people living with AIDS don't know that have it.

Coming up tonight at 10, NewsChannel 11 Investigates the truth about AIDS in Lubbock.
