A Lubbock Judge took the term "Gag Order" to a new level Tuesday. State District Judge, Jim Bob Darnell, ordered deputies to seal a defendant's mouth shut with duct tape.
Carl Wiley was on trial Tuesday for ramming his vehicle into his estranged wife's car. Darnell says Wiley repeatedly interrupted his attorney and Darnell himself. Darnell says he warned Wiley to be quiet or he would have his mouth duct-taped shut. When Wiley continued, Darnell followed through on his warning. Darnell says Wiley was duct taped for about ten minutes.
In the end, Wiley was convicted. He will be sentenced at a later date.
