Food for Thought Report 11.19

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - There's a new spot downtown, and they believe, "When it comes to good food and good drinks - trust your belly." Belly's Cafe at 1406 Ave. Q aced their first health inspection with zero critical violations.

Our next stop is a familiar name to the Food for Thought list, but adds a new location. Dion's Pizza at 905 University slices straight to the top.

Our next top performer rolls through another perfect surprise inspection. "It feels really good. It's our second year, and we hope to keep it that way," Angelica Morano said.

Burrito Tower at 3001 34th might be little, but that doesn't mean they don't stand above the rest, "We are small, but as you can see we are kind of yellow." And they do a lot more than their name might imply, "We have fajita plates, combos and we have a special every. So, y'all can come and try us."

We continue this hot dish over at El Paisano Mexican Restaurant at 1301 50th Street. They are a multiple repeat top performer.

Our next stop hit the bulls eye on their latest inspection. Target at 6064 Brownfield gets zero critical violations.

And it's a fast food drive-through tour as we hit our next four tops:

  • Burger King at 2002 50th Street
  • Wendy's at 5729 4th
  • Kentucky Fried Chicken at 7902 University
  • Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen at 2505 82nd

We wrap up our list of Food for Thought top performers with a sweet treat. Mrs. Camp's Bakery at 4005 34th once again bakes up perfection.
