LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock County Sheriff Kelly Rowe announced that the Sheriff's office will be implementing Operation St. Nick.
This operation was implemented due to the residential burglaries that occur where Christmas gifts are stolen and houses as well as property are damaged.
Officers will be temporarily re-assigned to patrol in areas where an increase in burglaries and property crimes have been seen. The number of officers patrolling rural neighborhoods in marked patrol cars for high visibility deterrence and unmarked cars to watch for suspicious behavior will increase.
The Sheriff's Office is also offering the vacation watch program to the citizens living in unincorporated areas of Lubbock County. With this program Deputies randomly check on your home while you are away on vacation or during the holiday season.
This is at no additional cost to you as a Lubbock County taxpayer.
If you are interested in this or any other program, please call 775-1601 and give the communications operator you information.
