Local woman celebrates 101st Thanksgiving

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A local family is counting their blessings - all 101 of them. That's how many Thanksgivings one family member has lived through.

Fisher Wynne is celebrating her 101st Thanksgiving. "Turkey and dressing, that's one of the main things I love to eat on Thanksgiving," said Wynne. She has a lot to be thankful for. "I never would have thought I'd be here this long, let alone here with my grandchildren," said Wynne.

Four out of the six generations came together. "It means a lot. We never thought she was going to get 100 and she's 101 and she seems to keep going," said 54-year-old granddaughter Evonne Sapp.

Figuring out all the great, and great great's was a little confusing, but they couldn't keep up with it either. "See I'm ... See you're a, oh we're the great great and they're the great great great, let's see I'm great," all the grandchildren went around trying to go down the line.

We tried again and it was a success. "So we got great, great great and then great great." the only generations not there was the second and sixth. Fisher's son has already passed away and her great great great grandson who shares her birthday was at another family thanksgiving.

Her grand kids were just happy she was there. "It's very very wonderful," said great great granddaughter TanaJahai Williams. "It's pretty fun and cool," said great great grandson Jaylon Sapp.

"I'm blessed, just blessed to be around to see them," said Wynne.
