LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The old home-remedy of eating Ginger Snaps to help with motion sickness, also has many other proven health benefits.
Researchers at the University of Rochester tested the old remedy on a much bigger scale giving various doses of ginger pills to cancer patients to see if it would help prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemo.
They found about a 40 percent reduction in nausea from the patients taking the ginger pills and it lasted at least four days after the chemo ended. They still don't know exactly why or how it works,
So if you're dreading the drive home from the holiday get-togethers, it might be worth the effort to put a box of Ginger Snaps in the car...just in case.
